Service Updates

Service Updates provides a ticker to distribute information about potential technical issues impacting your users. This differs from the Announcements Bar to allow different severity levels to be displayed, and a different icon is shown to the left of the service update depending on the severity shown.

When you click on a Service Update, you will see further details about that Service Update, including the time the entry was last updated, and any further details, including rich content such as images and text formatting.

Adding a Service Update

To create a new Service Update, navigate to Site contents from the Cog menu.

Find the Service Update list in Site Contents, then open it.

From the New menu, choose "Service Update"

Complete the details then click Save. Your new Service Update will appear in the Top Bar.

Ensure you set "Service Update Active" to Yes for the update to show. When it expires, you can set this to No to prevent it from being shown in the Service Updates ticker. This can be useful if the issue re-occurs and you want to quickly re-add the item.
